Is it expensive to build a bobber?
After doing a few custom mods on my 85 honda rebel (don’t laugh) I’ve been considering turning it into a bobber. I know it’s a small bike and kind of rediculous, but I think it would be pretty rad.
Other than modding the handle bars, seat and cutting the rear fender, what kind of expenses am I really looking at?
Also I’m wondering if it’s common for motorcycle shops to let you work on your bike in their shop, use their tools and guidance for the return of doing chores and clean up and stuff…
or is that just wishful thinking?
A bobbed Rebel is far from ridiculous. Can get downright pretty in fact:

http://www.jirehcycles.com (look in Harley catalog) has inexpensive but not cheap solo seats & springs — I have the leather 13″ wide that is only $50. They also have simple fenders and stuff.
