How long should I leave the choke out (motorbike)?
I’ve got a Yamaha SR125 Custom (125cc). It’s got a manual choke and is a pain in the a$$.
I was in the college car park and I had to leave it out for about 3-4 mins before i let it go. It then usually ticks over by then but as soon as I rev it it cuts out. So I restart it, slowly build up the revs in neutral and keep it like that for a couple of mins.
So anyway i pulled off in the carpark and it took off fine. Then I to the junction, clutch in, stopped and it just cuts out like it’s still too cold. Why?? I thought I gave it plently of time.
I wouldn’t mind if there was no other traffic and I wasn’t potentially putting my life in danger.
how cold was it??
I usually leave the choke on for about 30sec~1min
that should be good enough to heat up the bike…with some minor rev while the choke is on….if it’s still cutting off…
maybe you need to relearn how to shift / clutch correctly or just turn up the rev limit
